TheLibrarian 71 Posted August 23, 2012 I was killed by a hacker about a week ago. This experience did not sour me of DayZ, but made me rethink the way I was playing. So, I present to you, Cody's Hardmode.I carry no gun. Not even in my pack. I have a hatchet on my toolbelt but I will only pull it out if I NEED it to save YOU. If you are being chased by zekes, I will do my best to get their attention. I will escort you out of Elektrozavodsk, the city I have made my home. I will not shoot at you or attack you or do anything but make sure you have enough food, drink and health to get out of the city and on your way.I have been killed five times since I switched my play style to this. I will get killed numerous times in the future I am sure. I will stand and salute any bandit that chooses to fire on me. joecacti 0 Posted August 23, 2012 I want to add, I will try this, but I have to keep my axe out because there is way too much delay in opening my gear, right clicking the hatchet, left clicking the context menu to take from tool belt, and then finally reloading the hatchet. And then, sometimes it won't reload. So to avoid losing 2k blood while I fiddle with all that and Joe Zombie mauls me, I will keep my axe out thanks! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
TheLibrarian 71 Posted August 23, 2012 Joe, I recommend also keeping your flash light in your pistol slot then. A drawn hatchet could show a reasonable amount of hostility. You don't need someone seeing your hatchet in the ready position and misinterpreting that. In the daylight I can lose zekes inside the city without having to kill any of them. My home server, US 6 Portland hasn't been online in awhile, so I've been floating looking for a good server with a decent pingtime and plenty of players. I am open to suggestion as I do not maintain a tent or any kind of necessary campsite. I do live UTC -7 or -8 I can't remember, but my play time is usually right around 2200-0300I don't use any outside voice communication so if you want to chat you'll have to PM me here. I have joined Trusted Medics of the Wasteland and as such at times I must carry a firearm.
