GlaciusTS 7 Posted August 22, 2012 What? Fireworks? Why?I'll tell you why, bandits. Way I see it, fireworks should attract just about every zombie to come flying at you with a 10 km radius. Might be nice if we had some sort of option to avoid getting robbed, so I figure coming across a best strapped with dynamite is a bit extreme. But if your lucky, you could find a firework and essentially is means the same thing. Leave me alone or we all die. As soon as that firework is lit, bandits have mere seconds before it goes up and attracts every zombie to come flying in your direction. It's a death sentence for you, but at least it's something that could save you from getting robbed.

GlaciusTS 7 Posted August 22, 2012 Hahaha, think about it though. We use smoke and it alerts others of our position and it attracts zombies, why not crank it up a notch with something that can be spotted from great distances. Not only could it attract zombies but it could signal others to run to your position (At a risk of getting horribly devoured of course). I just imagine holding a firework while bandits have a gun to my head. "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me." Just avoid getting killed in one shot. If the guys walk away, great, you keep your stuff. If they decide to fire and you don't think you'll make it out of there alive, make what little is left of their lives a living hell by sending up a firework and attracting everything to your position. Also, simply pulling the trigger would send the firework directly up, but in the event that the enemy is a good distance away, or you want to send a horde to a specific spot, you can aim and send the firework in a specific direction.Fireworks would have to be rare though, as a large scale gunfight down a long street could get pretty nasty when someone decides to fire a firework towards your end. But it'd be pretty sweet.Obviously, the distance you are from the firework detonation would determine how many of the zombies actually spot you. if your near the center, you'll have an entire horde closing in on you, if your nowhere near the firework but you can see and hear it, fewer zombies will pass you as they run to the firework.Unless a group of bandits are prepared and have a ton of ammo, being too close to a firework when it detonates is likely a death sentence. GlaciusTS 7 Posted August 23, 2012 Anyone else think we should get more effective options for zombie bait?PS: In the event that there aren't many zombies around, using a firework should cause them toSpawn in the distance from every direction so they stil converge on the position directly under the firework explosion. In the event of a gunfight, if I'm outnumber, I would absolutely love to shoot a firework at my enemies and watch them gradually get overwhelmed by zombies. It wouldn't be a very good weapon for bandits to use because there's be too many zombies around the corpse. So fireworks would best benefit the heroes.
Thadeum 103 Posted August 23, 2012 You forgot that zombies spawn in the nearby locations of the buildings you are at. You could not attract them 10 kilometers away from your location, and that would be silly however as that would deplete the towns for all other players. In fact I think there are more important things to do than implement fireworks. I don't dislike the idea, I find it pointless despite the argumentation already made by OP, sorry.
GlaciusTS 7 Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) Ok, so zombies wouldnt actually spawn 10 km away. They would spawn in the distance and start charging in. But how is the pointless? I see many uses for attracting zombies to a specific location. And if they're rare, you wouldn't have to worry about people using it to drive zombies away. Besides, I don't really see a problem if someone in a nearby town suddenly notices all the zombies are running in one direction immediately after a firework explodes. It'd be so rare, it would pose as nothing more than a minor stroke of luck anyway. And also, how could you call it pointless when it would make bandits more cautious over their Victims. You a bandit? You worried you might try to rob someone and suddenly get overwhelmed by zombies? This would pose as a means of balancing the heroes and bandits. chipdemon@yahoo.com 57 Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) I think it should be implemented along with DogZ, just imagine the possibilities of a mobile zombie alarm! Edited August 23, 2012 by chipdemon
GlaciusTS 7 Posted August 23, 2012 Lol, now that would be funny if an animal ran off with a lit firework in its mouth.Maybe the firework could have the opposite effect on animals, scaring them in the other direction.
