PolarMuffin 1 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) I'm not new to computers, hence why I am building my own. I have just never played Arma2/DayZ, I've seen a few videos and it doesn't look to graphically intensive. This is a starting rig (Big upgrade from my laptop) which will eventually be upgraded from AMD to Intel.AMD FX 4100 4 core 3.6GHz 3.8GHz turbo.4x4GB RAM 1600MHz (Corsair Viper 3)Nvidia 560 TI.Asus M5A78L-M Motherboard (Cheap motherboard yay).750Watt PSU (Cooler master).Just curious as to what FPS I would be looked at with medium to high graphics. Naykon (DayZ) 25 Posted August 22, 2012 I would say your looking at 30-50fps, main thing is CPU for this game, fps drop can be heavy in built up areas, mightier processor the better!
Outypoo 59 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) High? 30+Can't tell for sure though since you only list AMD X4, which can be anything.Arma is very processor Heavy.EDIT: Ninja'd Edited August 22, 2012 by *Merc*Outypoo
rustledmyjimmies 361 Posted August 22, 2012 Arma tends to favor intel processor's, so if you're looking for high fps get an i5

Outypoo 59 Posted August 22, 2012 Well the 4100 is a dual core, with 4 threads. So Intel would work best, or atleast a Phenom.
Tweakie 199 Posted August 22, 2012 Well the 4100 is a dual core, with 4 threads. So Intel would work best, or atleast a Phenom.Nope it is a 2xdual core CPU...which would be a quad core. But a somewhat new and "bad" design (in a few years it will probably be awesome, but for now.... :( )Your best bet is to go for a i5 CPU or higher (i7)...but i would recommend buying i5 and do try to get ivy bridge, Yes more expensive NOW, but with the lesser powerusage you will earn back that money in the end/mother nature will like you for it.Rest is fine, even if a 560 is getting semi old (in computer years) it is still a fine card. billytehbob 6 Posted August 22, 2012 I'm running an I7 2600, 550ti, and 4 gigs of slow as shit RAM, and I can't run the game almost nearly maxed out for the most part. Some servers seem to run terribly, while most run very well for me. If I were you, I would try to get an I5 2500k, but the only reason I have the i7 is because I only paid $200 for it, the mobo, ram, and the GPU ;)
