Survivor, Bandit, Medic... Infected?!

Me and some friends have been trying something new with some sort of "rules" we set ourselves. This was simply because we wanted to try a different angle to DayZ. Playing Infected.

We would:

1. Select a zombie skin/face in character creation.

2. Make sure we started in a server with VOIP.

3. Pick up random loot, anything we could get our hands on, useless or otherewise (bigger packs than coyote patrol preferable).

4. Use only hatchets or crow bars when attacking any humans.

5. Scream over voice chat like the infected.

6. Avoid killing any infected, if you attract any, make sure you direct them to other players.

What ended up happening were some very amusing chase scenes. "Ex-survivor" was another sort of term given to us as it seemed like we were sometimes useful in providing loot to people. Also - we could run indoors and were thus a greater threat to some extent.

Let us know if you do anything like this/have encountered anyone like this. We'd love to see videos and some stories crop up! :D

I wanted to play something like "Civilization" where players live amongst one n' other choosing their house. Also having caps, store owners, ect, ect. Buying, trading, vehicles, and with the ability to have 50+ players at a time would make it all the more better. Civilization, but with zombies... Or even just play it in Arma II itself on the same map would be fun too. It'd need more elaborating on, and rules, ect, ect.

Your idea sounds like fun too though! I would have never thought to do that. :D

You'd definitely need bandits in my idea too, or cops would be useless...

I mean the only reason I don't turn around and shoot the zombies following me, is because it's a waste of ammo and you can easily out run them inside a building.

But if a were to see a zombie with a hatchet running around I would know something's not right. (And most likely shoot him twice in the face)

Several times I have run through the map, with Benny Hill theme playing over VOIP and 30 zombies chasing me. I have head various reactions but generally make sure I'm on a 3rd person server and then start running backwards zigzagging, running sideways, running after zombies so u just all end up running in a big circle.

So far I've had people laugh as I run by, shoot me or shit their pants as they seem me coming and try to hide in the nearest object (usually a bush or just lay down) which is hilarious.

BTW this is also an excellent method to learn zombie behaviour - I can now say I am pretty much an expert when it comes to zombie dodging :)
