Close to the map borders...

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I made my way up north and after passing NWAF I moved up into the hills on the western map border in the hope to find an animal to get my food stocked up. No success at all up there, only after I came closer to villages again I finally found a Goatse.

So my question now:

Is the game scripted that way that animals only spawn nearby civilisation or were I just unlucky in the wilderness?

You were just unlucky I guess. I've been alot at the mapborder looking for camps etc, and I've always come across an animal or two regularly.

I would suggest taking a break for a while if you found a goatse in DayZ.
