sandorski 17 Posted June 10, 2012 Getting desperate, had 4k Blood after a shootout and 4 cans of food. Trying to find more food ended up in a 9Z v me battle, now have <700 Blood.Annoying part is I have had 6 Raw Meat, Hatchet, Chopped Wood, and Matches ever since the Shoot out, but every time I try to cook the meat, I can't figure out how to light fireplace. All it seems to be doing is allowing me to store items in it.Help!SincerelySemi-conscious in a corner:sleepy:
Legacy (DayZ) 1091 Posted June 10, 2012 I believe you gotta right click the firewood or you have to use the scroll wheel.
Disgraced 1123 Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah, once you place it, scroll wheel should just offer 'light fire'.

salty (DayZ) 39 Posted June 10, 2012 It can be a bit awkward sometimes. Just keep moving your mouse around the fireplace until you can select 'Light fire' with your scroll wheel. The same awkwardness also applies to cooking meat. :P
Maca (DayZ) 769 Posted June 10, 2012 Just take 2 steps back look at the bottom of fire and use mouse-wheel, from there you should be able to select cook meat... Dont stand on top of fire-pit..
zemalf 3 Posted June 10, 2012 it's pretty much covered above, but here's the full 1-2-3:box of matches and firewood in the inventory (and raw meat)find a relatively flat area (I've had fireplace not show up on a slope)right-click matches >> create fireplace (right-click on firewood might work too)1-2 steps back, look at fireplacemousewheel on the fire >> light fire(have all raw meat in the inventory before cooking, not backpack, and all is cooked at once)mousewheel on the fire >> cook meatmousewheel on the fire >> put out fireom nom nom nom
sandorski 17 Posted June 10, 2012 Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try it out. I passed out while making the fireplace and never woke up.Oh well, I'll know for next, thanks again guys.
