wen36912 0 Posted August 21, 2012 OK so i know you hear this a lot but...Im new to PC gaming and have only ever played command and conquer. God i hope DayZ gets to Xbox soon.so i want to buy it but had no idea if it would work. So Im about to download the Arma demo but in the meantime i thought id ask if would run on my laptop. I done the "can you run it" check and it said i failed on the Video Card because Dedicated Video RAM min. is 256MB and I have 64MBso i have...Asus X52F-EX1399V4GB RAMi3 processorIntel HD Graphics640GB I would love to start playing it now but if i have to wait because it would be rubbish on my set up then so be it...HURRY UP AND PUT IT ON CONSOLES ALREADY! all these rumors?! sales will be better than ever before!anyway thanks in advance!!! DazTroyer 227 Posted August 21, 2012 It might make it to next gen consoles on dedicated servers. However Rocket says he would need to sell about 2million copies on pc first, which is his obvious priority. I've love it on console, then I could get my mates playing, bit of a bit ask telling them it's good so go buy a 750 pound pc. As for your lappy, not a chance imo. Sorry. Tweakie 199 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) "Intel HD Graphics" well there is your problem. (and it is not a great CPU, but plenty fine)And please don't put it on Xbox... I know it will be released there at some point (pretty sure it was confirmed) but for the love of god, hasn't consoles dumbed down enough games already?I am also pretty sure you will have to wait, due to the rapid patch nature of the mod/game, since it would be a money pit on consoles with all the certification. Each patch would be a few weeks delayed, and new maps will have to cost you extra money. Edited August 21, 2012 by Tweakie
21Actual 5 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) A notebook with integrated graphics is going to struggle. It pretty much wont be playable. Try the demo and see how it goes though. And consoles, really? They are inferior to to gaming PC's, especially when it comes to FPS games, and I doubt you will ever see Arma II or DayZ ported to console any time in the near future. Hopefully never though.Shop around, a complete starter gaming desktop can be built for around $1000 Edited August 21, 2012 by 21Actual

Tweakie 199 Posted August 22, 2012 Depending on what generation of HD graphics, IT MIGHT work...but you won't be happy with the result. Test with Arma 2 free, if you can hit a stable 40~ FPS (check with Fraps/Dxtory/whateves you want).... You could try it out.. But I still won't recommend it.I think you can get "external graphics cards" for laptop.. But i have no experience with them, and cannot say if it work well enough. ScottyTheEngineer 47 Posted August 22, 2012 It's good enough if it's good enough for you. My FPS sometimes drop below 20 as well, but it's still playable. You might try to:- disable post processing- disable anti aliasing- disable vsync- decrease resolution (3D)- decrease world & texture detail- turn off shadowsSee if it works
