Better death messages

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone I am a fairly noobish admin of a server rented by a company. We are having trouble with hackers, what preventative / easy to catch ways are there? Also, is it possible to change the death messages to "randomguy was killed BY randomguy2" rather than just the usual "randomguy was killed" message?

The reason I ask, we have a few of us that play on our server and are being hacked fairly frequently, so when we know we were hacked we can determine who it actually is doing it.

1. Look for the DayZ Anti-Hack software and have your admin install it, it does help.

2. View the list of active players on the server (Hit M - Then select Players in the upper left) Generally the one NOT dying is the hacker.

3. I am pretty sure there is a log parsing script available in this forum as well, use that to review your logs.

Easier to get help there, your thread wont get lost

Grab a ftp client & upload the following files http://code.google.c...se/#git/filters

I would just nuke the old script log files u got, and just work on catching hackers after u have updated too save yourself a headache

Also if u want edit your bans.txt & append the following to the end of it http://code.google.c...rowse/#git/bans
