The Sentinels - Anti Bandit/Rapid Response/Haven Guards

I am proposing to create and establish a protection force within Day Z.

I have no military background, and so would be happy to delegate such matters to others should they wish to become a part of this.

But I truly believe we now need a force establishing within this map. Hundreds of players strong, this unit could establish safe havens around the map and offer mobile squads that could respond to a call for help if necessary. This would work on a rolling shift format unless people wanted to participate full time as it were.

We could be hired out. The possibilities are endless and open ended.

We need to establish such a response in order to address the concerns of those who feel bandits have reduced their passion for the game. This will not lessen any gameplay, nor is it a "care bear" approach.

In fact, I beg to differ and propose that such an idea could ignite creativity and excitement through the game. If those bandits feel they are strong enough, they can attempt to steal our havens from us.

Now consider that firefight.

I believe, firmly, that this is a natural progression.

I am simply testing the water fit candidates and interest. If I have piqued yours, or you believe you could run some element for me, please do not hesitate to pm me.

I leave this up to the community, but I am going ahead full steam with this.

I would love to be apart of something like this, it seems like many want it to happen but i've not heard of much success. We seem to be spread too thin, there are all these seperate groups with the same desire and if we actually teamed up we may be able to make a difference. Now i'm not talking a 24/7 guarded area difference, that's just foolish. But holding an area for a few hours or so and moving on, that is quite plausible.

I'm with you on the bandit situation as well, I don't dislike bandits, infact they are what keeps me playing this game. When the situation arises (it obviously would) and a firefight happens, we would just have to win.

I really hope something can stem from all of these threads, I don't like the seek out and destroy mentality that everyone seems to be progressing towards.
