GrumpyFragger 67 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) Hello,first of all I wanna say a big thank you to the Dev of this addon, it is amazing and a big fu to all nay sayers, this game is still in Beta, think about it when you moan and whine about bugs and glitches. It punish`s the dump and careless and offers no safetynet, learn or die and lose your stuff, that`s what I like about it alot.I never played ARMA before, just stumbled over DayZ because some of my corp mates from EVE-Online were talking about it so I got me a version from Steam, installed SixLauncher etc.Allways a fight to get on a server that loads and Six GUI is unresponsive as hell for me so I tried DayZCommander for a few days which is faster and offers more info but seem to produce more endless loading screens ( atleast for me ) so I switch between both depending on success at the moment I log in.1st day was alot of dieing to Zombies as I was running around like a headless chicken with no clue at all, spend some time on forums and found help here and watched lots of uTube vids to get a clue. Found a car near Solnichniy on my 2nd day which was blown up 2 hours later by a chopper :(Made a few solo trips into the wilderness mostly around 3 Valleys up to Polana and tried to avoid big cities like Cherno or Elektro found an DMR in a Deerstand which I still have, were unlucky with Matches & Hunting Knife ( which I have since yesterday, finally ) so I had to go back to civilization for food regular.Sunday I made my way up to Stary with the plan in mind to score my 1st non Zombie kill with my DMR, all was set, nice spot to overview the hot spots and my pumping pulse was calming down... I was in killer mode. Wife aggro >:( forces me to log without any score, shit. Log in 2 hours later in the hope to see some Survivors apear in my DMR scope and... spawn at some radom place at the coast :huh:Relog again in the hope to spawn back in Stary and that the server had only a hickup and... spawn on a Night time server on the coast again....fu..! Due to my rage I missed to check the opening screen were I spawned at all, started my way and after 100m I ran right into a zombie, made it out with 5k blood left, I log and start to believe that DayZ hates me.Monday I log in after I heard that my EVE buddies were playing DayZ and ask them for rescue, 2 of em come over and fill up my blood and we heading together up north, no good loot and tons a zombie aggro later both my buddies log ( one died to zombies ) and I found myself heading to Cherno to finally get Matches and a Hunting Knife.About 50m before the Market near the coast I catch aggro, make it into the Market, kill 5 of them and are back down to 4k blood, but the remaining zombies de-aggro. Now I´m here in Cherno, half dead, sitting in a corner of the Market waiting for someone entering the door, ready to hit the final nail in my coffin. My mate comes back \o/, he tells me that he is 5km out and starts to make his way down to Cherno, 1 very long hour later he is there :)Filled up with blood and more gear from the Market we make our way up the NW Airfield to get all stocked up with gear and pimp guns and maybe score some player kills. Another EVE mate joins in and we meet up close before Airfield and lose him again to bad aggro management before we even enter the first hangar, us remaining two make it into the first hangar, heal us up and start looting hangar by hangar very carefully.We get to the tower, close doors and go up the stairs without any real luck on pimp loot, but find some nice additions to what we already have. In the second floor I glitch out and find myself on the roof, saw that on uTube once but cant remember how that guy made it back in.My mate follows me and now the zombies going nuts infront and inside of the tower. We try to distract them with smoke nades which seem to work but when I was nearly down the ladder some zombies come back so I climb back up to trough another granade not seeing fast enough that my mate already followed my on the ladder and now gets my head into his ass :o .He falls and is dead, ohnoes... "Sorry dude, I´m really sorry" I say to him on TS while he is laughing his ass off and takeing it good sports.After a few more excuses from my side and with only one granade left I try it one more time, get all zombies facinateted by the red smoke, down the ladder, loot my mate ( he will get his stuff back ofc ) and crawl carefully back into the forrest were I log at 4:30AM my time. Snipes007 6 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) Oh yes I can promise you many hours of similar antics, fire fights and getting out of being snipped situations are some of the best moments in the game. Tip tried not to gang up in gangs of too many ppl communication is difficult at the best of the times, due the different levels of knowledge in understand landmarks in coordinating attacks.
