daspope 146 Posted August 21, 2012 I already have a few dedicated linux servers that I use for hosting databases and websites. does arma2/dayz have a linux server program I could run on one of my servers that isn't used very much?I been thinking about opening my own server but the server hosts out there charge stupid amounts for what it is you are getting and figured I could piggy back one of my existing servers. VRocker 6 Posted August 21, 2012 Unfortunately you cannot run a native linux server at this time without using WINE (which imo, sucks)I posted a thread about my investigation on why there cannot be one yet here http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/74723-linux-server/#entry710312, as you can see its the ARMA2 servers fault for not allowing extensions yet.We should all gang up and give the arma2 devs a giant poke to implement them :)

Never tried using the Arma2 server so not sure if it even has/requires a GUI but I am assuming it does. Edited August 21, 2012 by daspope
SurvivalServers (DayZ) 69 Posted August 21, 2012 They keep saying "soon" which I really hope is the case. Would bring prices down for everyone.
