bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted July 5, 2012 Quote 1. Spawn2. Have friend kill you 3. repeat for infinite food.Far too easy to abuse mechanic. Also there doesnt need to be even more reason for shoot on sight. You'd also have to abuse the respawn mechanic, and the voice chat mechanic. At that point, you're clearly determined to cheat the system so who cares if you have a backpack full of human meat. It doesn't seem like an issue in my eyes. ---------------------------I'd love to see this in-game. Maybe even go to the extent of removing all the other animals (or make them extremely rare)so human is the only reliable source of meat that can be hunted. I've recently watched The Road after rocket mentioned it, and am now reading the book and cannibalism plays a huge part in that story and really plays with your own imagination. People are out there trying to kill you, because you are food and they're staving to death. It's a scary thought.
brubaker 0 Posted July 6, 2012 cannibalism would be a very good way of adding to the gloomy atmosphere and highlighting the inevitability of death. Some kind of consequence to repetitive cannibalism should somewhat balance it.It would have definitely made me more nervous when I was sick and ill-equipped with a group of hungry players
Zefoxe 0 Posted July 6, 2012 I concur, this is a great idea! The obvious penalty should be realistic. Much like mad cow disease, eventually you start to become insane eating the same meat that your made of (cows were being fed cow meat which led to mad cow disease). The penalty can come with vision changes (blur, etc) and even becoming blocked from chat channels as you slowly become incomprehendable to other humans. Perhaps a speed boost but also a decrease in aim maybe? This would make it difficult for someone to just snipe and and camp other players for free food, but would make a cannibal axe wielding player god awful scarey as they begin to outrun you lol
