Flashlight suggestion

Recommended Posts

Hello, I haven't browsed the forums very much or looked to see if this was already suggested and I imagine it has been multiple times.

What I suggest is instead of having just the flashlights being hand held, why not have the option to have a head lamp instead.

Head lamps could be spawned just like normal flashlights but replacing them instead.

What I'm trying to say is that why not give the player the option to pick between the hard to find NVG's and the more common spawn the flash light? you could put on a head lamp just like NVG's and it would allow a player to use weapons freely.

I'm just saying it would be a nice feature and it still in the world of realism, I'm sure they have some kind of head mounted light in post soviet zombie infected Russia.

Feel free to comment your thoughts every one.

Yes I have actually mentioned this before, or even a lantern that lights up a wider area. I have never done it myself, but I hear the military flashlight can be attached to you shoulder?

I like the idea of headlamps, but flashlights in general are just bandit bait at the moment. In the standalone with the options of underground caverns or whatever they end up being, headlamps would be awesome. Night vision merely amplifies existing light, so it could be cool if NVGs actually didn't work in the tunnels. However, I'm not up-to-date with real world NVGs, it's quite possible they emit a little bit of light themselves and could be 'self-sustaining' so to speak.

Now attaching a military flashlight would be really cool. Make them worth picking up.

This is true, a pair of nightvision goggles that I have has a bunch of diodes that emit a small IR light that cannot be seen by the naked eye. That alone is enough to illuminate the area around you up to a viewable distance of ~20 metres or so. I believe modern NVG's use another method than that nowadays though.

Actually owning a pair of NVG is a little freaky... What do you use them for?

He uses them to find out if you touch yourself at night.

Valid Question, I'm a military fanatic, I own pretty much everything from hats, helmets, vests, boots, uniforms, nvg's,binoculars, etc. But don't worry about that, I'm not a crazed gunman, I despise weapon usage IRL unless provoked (like... REALLY provoked as in war terms) so I don't own any firearms. I rarely use the goggles though, maybe when a fuse in our box fries and I need to find it, I tend to have no flashlights or candles in the house.

Holy crap, I might have to hunt down some NVGs for that exact reason...

well i believe in terms of implementation, the closest workaround would be to add flashlight attachment to all guns ingame(use the code that allows g17 and remington to emit light) and to be able to use attachment the tool belt item is required.
