Banned from US 1485 for no reason?

I only recently started playing DayZ so I'm still a bit of a newb, because of this I've been trying to stick to relatively low population servers. I've mainly been playing on US 1485 recently because it's usually pretty low on players and it's safer to scavenge for loot.

Today I was looting Stary Sobor and the NW airfield for weapons when the server was restarted multiple times over the course of an hour or two. I heard from a friend that the vehicles respawn whenever the server is restarted. I'm not sure if this is true or not but I figured I would head to the northwest corner of the map to check for vehicle spawns. On the way there I stumbled upon a group of tents hidden in a forest. They contained multiple weapons and other rare items. Among them was an AS50 with a couple mags, a couple rangefinders, some NVG's, and GPS. I had never found any of these items so I was obviously pretty excited.

I went back to the NW airfield and then to Stary looking for people to snipe at both. Unfortunately I found no one so I took a break and came back every so often to check if anyone was looting the tents at Stary yet. Eventually I came back from getting food and saw that I had been banned from the server.

The only explanation I can think of is that I stole from the admins tents and they were pissed? As far as I know I did nothing wrong. I'd like to get a response from the admin who banned me or the owner of the server if possible. I've added a few of the DN clan members to friends on steam but so far they have all declined and ignored me.

typical admin abuse, A friend and myself were also banned from that server couple days ago and was told by the admin that we were teleporting to their camp in nothing but default clothes. Even though we both had ghillies on so it doesn't even make sense. The're just mad that some people found their camp and use the excuse "we're having a heck of a time keeping hackers off our server. and at the moment we can't take any risks."

We were hit once again today, this time by a very large group of hackers. My admins issued a server-wide ban on everyone who was not accounted for on the server. Sucks to have to do this, but it's the only way to be sure to get rid of hackers. They knew there was going to be innocent people banned, but like Anmut quoted, we take no risks in protecting our investment.

For the record, that wasn't an excuse, I can show you LOADS of server logs of people trying to attack our server. See, everytime someone like you makes a post on the forums like this, it paints a huge target on the server for the hackers, so I imagine that this post will be no different and we'll be bombarded once again by script kiddies.

Either way, we have no problem unbanning you, as I said, we knew innocent players were going to be affected. Contact me on steam and we'll see to it that this is resolved.

I'll say it again though, I will do everything, and anything in my power to protect an investment that I made. This has nothing to do with 'abusive admins' or whatever conspiracy theory garble players like to spurt out lately. I don't understand why players get so mad, when there are thousands of servers to play on, find another, or better yet, purchase your own, and see how long it takes before you're forced to do the same as we are. As far as the comment about us being pissed that you raided our camps, damn right we'd be pissed, but that's not worth banning over, in fact it's quite the contrary, we love it when people threaten or grief us, it's kind of like a chance to go to war. Steal our stuff? Kill our friends? Steal our vehicles? We will hunt you down, even on different servers, and make your life miserable. It's all part of the game.

TL;DR You weren't singled out and banned, get over yourself. You were banned along with every other player in the server in order to stop the hacker attack that was underway while you were online. You think this is unfair? So do we. However the devs have given us no proper tools to prevent these hackers/cheaters, and since we're paying for our server, we must take it into our own hands to solve the issue.

Good on you for resolving the issue and unbanning people who were collateral damage in your fight against hackers.

Sucks you have to result to such extreme measures to get rid of hackers. I'm sure things will improve soon.

Thanks for your support. I really am a fair admin. Yes the majority of my clan are bandits, but we are fair, and we give stuff away all the time like high value gear and vehicles and will help those who really need it. I hate to see these posts as I am compassionate for the players affected, but like I said many times before, I have to protect my investment with the tools that I have at my disposal (which aren't much). I love it when our server is populated, I love to see the same names every day on our server of people we've never encountered or never talked to. We want people to have fun on the server, it just sucks when these hackers come in and ruin it for everyone.

I added you on steam but I think you declined it or something so I can't add you again. It says "Error adding friend. Please try again." I also tried adding multiple people from your clans steam group to try to get in touch with you, but they haven't accepted either. Also no one on your server was hacking during the time that I was on. At least there was no hacking that spread to the entire server like a mass teleport or nuking of all players. There was hardly anyone on at the time, maybe 5-10 or less and half of them had a DN tag on. I don't see why a server wide ban is necessary. I don't personally run a DayZ server but surely there must be some way to single out the hacker or hackers and only ban them? Either way steam won't let me add you now so tell me what you need from me to unban me and I can hopefully provide it through here. Thank you.

P.S. - Obviously I could choose to switch to another server as there are thousands to choose from but I enjoyed the time I spent on your server over the past few days and by switching servers I run the risk of being teleported back to the shore.

Hello all, I am Klassick the Administrator of US 1485 that was on at the specific time that these events had happened today, it would be true to say that at the same time you had found a camp near Stary, one of our teamates was standing out side of a heli a good 5,000+ meters out from the north edge of the map in debug zone, and a guy had shot him from out of no where close range with 2-3 silenced shots, at this time the server owner Phonix aka DN Lucy was not available, and so as an Admin I made the decision to ban the entire server currently as a group until the logs could be checked and the problem could be solved being as you would assume some one is hacking in this situation, I apologize for the inconvienance and hope that you are satisfied with the resolution it comes down to.
