Your server specs? approved/denied opinions?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

just got my server hosting denied.

Server specs:

HP Proliant DL585

4 x AMD Opteron 875 2.2Ghz dual core cpu's

24GB Ram PC3200 or 2700, don't remember ATM

4 x 73GB 15k SCSI drives on HP 5i array controller

Network:

100Mbit fiber

I know this is an old server, but this setup have been running 3 Terminal servers with around 30 users per server + 7 other servers with SQL, Exchange, File sharing and other things.

Soooo, I thought that maybe this would be a nice 40 slot DayZ server, but I was wrong...

What about you others out there hosting or trying to host DayZ servers by your selfe.

what specs do you have? and did you get approved?

last, but least, do you think my setup is to old and slow for hosting DayZ?

Sincerely,

Ripper_Roo :)

Seems weird how this got denied and half of the dayz are terribly slow. Maybe other people lie, I dunno. But your CPU is not very great, while it may run a server with no issues, when the server starts to fill up I've noticed that dayz can jump around. I can see mines running at 30% with 50 people but it occasionally jumps up to 50ish, I'm using a i5-2500. You may notice the effects with a oldier CPU.

We have multiple active instances and got denied once on two new ones.. Same config as our other boxes only difference was we changed the first and last name on the account from a real name to Gameserver Moderator. We changed the name back, resubmitted, and in less then an hr had two more instance IDs.

Doesn't make much sense and now we have two blanks in our list of instances. We also once had a ticket open for 20+ days that was never responded to asking for a simple instance ID IP reassignment. It took less then an hour for a representative to ask us how to resubmit the requests differently. They NEVER replied once we did though.. lol! We had to go about things on our own, don't expect much help.
