So I have been playing day z for a bit now and I have yet to find a gun of any type. so I am pretty defenceless and I realized that after the 2nd time of being shot on sight by someone I didn’t even see that I need to team up. if you've been playing for some time and dont have a weapon you're not hitting up buildings/loot areas. You really need to at least go to watch towers out in open fields and theres always weapons and ammo and what not. barns usually have hatchets (best weapon in the game!). I hunt and play with a hatchet. also, dont go getting a pistol or rifle and rely on it, because most are loud and attract more zeds than you can kill. a hatchet is the only weapon necessary for killing zeds. every other weapon is purely for defense/offense against human players.

its frustrating not having a weapon which is silly to start completely defenseless...but youll quickly learn where to get good gear.
