Newly Rented Server (Vilayer), Wait for Host

I just recently (today) rented a DayZ server from Vilayer, it was all setup and running within 30 minutes. However when I tried to join (after configuring server files to be setup to the latest beta patch ect) I'm just stuck on a black screen with text that says "Wait for Host".

I can also see a player list in the top right of my screen that shows me and anyone who connects to have a flashing red name.

The chat is still active and I am able to login as the administrator.

BI's Rcon tool will also not connect to the server properly. I kept attempting over and over and eventually got it too connect.

In the mean-time I've opened a ticket with Vilayer to see what the issue may be, I'm still waiting on a response but was just wondering what any of you guys could suggest?

Hey!

You and all the other new customers since about over a week ago =)

You get those errors because your server needs it's own unique Instance ID connected up to the DayZ Hive. So you have to make a ticket on Vilayer and ask them to attach an Instance ID to your server, then you'll be up and running!

Oh okay! I understand now. I heard about every server needing it's own unique ID, I just put my own in.. Guess I'll take that back out and put up a ticket! Cheers man.

So, I to have just gotten a server from Vilayer, and idea of how long it takes for them to assign this ID?

If they are waiting for dayz team to whitelist IDs it can take anywhere from a few hours to 10 days. Unless you pre-ordered I imagine they have the IDs and should be good to go after they put it in.

All in all you'll have to contact them.

I believe there must have been a mistake on Vilayer's end. I don't see why they'd give you a server that's not whitelisted. :)

all good, took about an hour to get the ID and the server now runs fine :D

Servers at Vilayer are whitelisted automatically, however the installation of the instance i.d and mission file are a manual process and can take a few hours.

Vilayer is horrible, very rude customer service and unresponsive.

It may take up to 24 hours for your instance id, they are a European company, so you have to realize their times. I haven't had any problems with them. :)

Go to your Client Area and log in, then you'll see support /tickets.

We're with Vilayer as well and running 2 servers.Really happy so far with prices,performance and support.

Same thing happened when i bought a server from you.... still waiting for it to fix
