Addition to the communication in-game *over ITEMS*

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

since I started playing DayZ I thought about a feature which would take the "in-game communication" to a whole new level.

When talking about "In-game comm.", I mean hitting other players up by talking to them over a bigger distance .

That's the point when the "WALKIE TALKIE" actually makes sense.

You could raid towns/military bases and find a W.T., which allows you to talk to other people who are

FIRSTLY using the same channel as you are and SECONDLY of course also using a WT.

This feature would bring stalking on other people, hooking up with friendlies, planing an ambush, eavesdropping so much easier and more intense.

You could also be able to create new channels for you and your friends so you could talk to them over 3-5 kilometers distance. -> eavesdropping a channel shouldnt be too hard but require patience.

Everyone would have the ability to join ANY channel possible, the question is if someone is really using the one you are trying to eavesdrop or not.

It would be also nice if you could actually press O e.g. and see the walkie talkie like the watch or GPS (ctrl + m) -> by doing this you could maintain the security of your channel because there are numbers which indicate the number of players using one channel.

I dont know what you think about my idea.

I think it would add a nice flavour to the feeling.

Could possibly bring a use to the radio used in Arma, but most people would still stick to using the current methods of communication; TS3 or skype, so you cannot be eavesdropped.
