To trust or not to trust...

Recommended Posts

So I'm a fairly new player to Dayz having discovered it through the wonders of YouTube a few months back.

I've had a fairly good experience so far, even when I'm having to abort abort abort when hackers teleport me...

I'm now kitted up to the max, only really missing a range finder and ghillie suit having ventured to the NW airbase and stumbling across a ridiculously well stocked tent city. Thanks for the equipment whichever clan that was.

I'm the sort of player who would rather hunt player killers than kill survivors or players new to the game and so far have managed to only kill those who shoot first at me.

The dilemma I now face is that I'd quite like to join a group/clan to bring a more social side to my experience, but fear that I'd be betrayed by those that are loot hungry. I'd quite happily give away equipment to help others out, but I'd be fairly gutted if I was to join a group only for it to turn out to be a lure for my gear.

Presumably I'm not the only one with such doubts?

OhGreen.

The general rule is don't trust anyone you met in-game. If you know them from somewhere else or you're joining a group you don't have much to worry about. Most clans or groups are pretty well geared at this point without your stuff.

I presume you mean talk to him rather than take him ;)

May as well just go for it, I'll respond with how it goes!
