When the health-thief comes to town

Let me start off by saying that I am an incredibly accident prone DayZ player. That being said, I have been having troubles with eating perfectly good cooked steaks , logging off for a breather, and then coming back in-game with much less health than I had before. This has happened to me twice now in the past day, and, while I get that this is probably just alpha madness, it sucks the big, veiny one to find an entire cow to eat (8 grade A steaks) and then wake up with black and white vision. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

*Where was I?

Easy, just east of Polana and once more while fleeing the nearby factory.

*What was I doing?

Butchering and eating animals as a midday snack, then logging off for a break from this hell.

*Version 1.6.0.1 on the only Japanese server I can see.

*After the first time, I was incredibly lucky to stumble upon a goat to feast upon. I think, now in my blind old age, I am a dead man for sure.
