Dendrophilia 0 Posted August 19, 2012 Hi, and Thank You for taking your time to read my post.As you can see by the Topic Title i've gotten myself a New Gaming PC its only a 3 Months Old. The guy i got it off was selling it because he needed to money for a new car so i proudly took the PC off his hands. The major problem I have with buying a new PC is. Will I get banned when I play a new game? You see I've been admiring DayZ for a good 3-4 Weeks now and I've reached the point where i've said the hell with it. I've gotten myself and PC and enough money to buy the game. But i've read up before thinking about buying the game and found that Battleye is not very nice to hackers and so forth (they're scum anyway so who gives one). Anyway the guy i got it off did his best to wipe as much of his information off the PC before giving it to me because he'd lost his Recovery Disks/Remaster Disks, but i dont want to take the risks of buying Arma and installing DayZ to just becoming Globally Banned. I don't have many pennies left and I wouldn't like to loose the cash i have to a game i wont even get to play. I'm just asking for any information about this because I dont know what games he's played and i cant get in touch with him anymore. If anyone can help me I'd really like that because well im not the best person when it comes to things like this. If anyone can help please message back I BEG OF YOU!!! SuperDarly (DayZ) 0 Posted August 19, 2012 Did the guy before you play ArmA2 and/or DayZ? Did he use malicious scripts for the game? If you answered no to both these questions, I cannot see how you'd be banned.
naizarak 41 Posted August 19, 2012 ok so you're afraid that the past owner *might* have used hacks, and that you'll be banned as a result.that won't happen, don't worry.
Rokochan 26 Posted August 19, 2012 if you are afraid of the " owner's past" still on the computer, if you have gotten the windows cd you can always reboot the computer from scratch. also if you already have arma2 installed on there make sure there's no scripts folder on it just to be safe
