CD key problems - same charakter

Hey,

kinda hard to describe my problem...but here we go:

I bought Arma 2 and Arma OA to play dayZ on my computer. My brother just bought Arma OA and used the free version of Arma 2 without the HD graphics to play Dayz on his own computer.

After the latest patch my brother got problems and couldnt connect to any server. We tried a lot and read a lot on the support forum but nothing really helped. Then we tried if there is any problem with his free version of arma 2 (coz its not listed in steam). I then logged me in on his computer with my steam ID and installed the full Arma 2 version. After that he had my Arma 2 and his own copy of Arma OA on his pc and everything worked again. But the problem was that we now share a charakter. His dayz is also connected to my CD key i guess.

We then uninstalled his Arma 2 and bought another copy in the steam store. As a reminder: my brother now has both, arma 2 and OA as a full version. He installed his newly bought version with steam but still we got the problem that we share one charakter when we log on a dayz server.

PS: before the fresh installation we even deleted the arma 2 files in the regestry. didnt help either.

If this is too steam specific then i will post this on the steam boards.

Sounds like you may have overwritten your OA key onto his when u logged your steam on his pc, because as far as I know that is what is used for characters and battleye bans etc. Can i suggest hunting down the OA key in the registry and changing it back to his one? There are many guides and/or tools on google to help.
