Just had a similar situation a few days ago... I was walking in the forest just south of Tulga with nothing more than an axe and maybe a can of beans when I heard a chopper coming closer.

They instantly opened fire on me.

Luckily their aim was terrible but then I saw a guy jumping out of the chopper and opening up his parachute so I thought I was done for.

Until I found that the puppy plunged himself to death. Took his M4A3 CCO, morphine, meat, G17, waterbottles etc.

That's hilarious because it's a known feature that DayZ has no parachutes.

Yes, you can see the animation some times but because they're not actually in the game you don't get any of the benefits. Nice job looting the fool, you have my beans.

There are parachutes in dayz actually. I've had them work for me before. Just need to be in the perfect position I suppose.
