Things that need to be removed

Title :)

1. Corner-Eye scanning for players, vehicles, and animals.

If you look on the side of your screen when there's a player (Green), vehicle(grey), or animal (grey) just outside of your field of view, there is a green/grey "Dot" about the size of a pinkie finger imprint.

This can be used to "scan" for animals, vehicles, and even other players if you look hard enough.

2. Helicopters have a "radar"

This radar is used to determine FoF and missile direction in ArmA2 OA.

Because there are no AA missiles (right..? D:) in DayZ, and because you could just fly around the map and easily finding all the vehicles, this needs to be removed. Would make vehicle finding simple once you have a helicopter.

3. Super Military Weapons.

Things like M249, M240's, M107's etc are pretty ridiculous and is like "easy mode".

The rarest weapons should be CCO M4's/Acog M16's.

These weapons' ammo is quite rare, yes. But this leads me to another point..

4. Ammo "regenerates" after re-logging.

Fire off all of your ammo in a magazine, except for 1 round. Reload. Do the same for all your magazines.

Now rejoin the server. You have all your ammo back.

If there is a way to fix this, this will allow people to not have infinite ammo after finding 4-5 mags.

5. Night Vision.

I know people will cry about this being removed. Once you have night vision, the game is dramatically changed. You no longer need a flashlight, flares, chemlights, or anything.

Anyone without nightvision, is prey to people with night vision at night time. Which, would make sense.

However, night vision is fairly OP. It reduces the "fear" of night dramatically.

6. Leaderboards.

I just want to say that I'm pro-PvP. I enjoy the tense aspect of PVP.

Remove anything that has to do with getting kills. Keep the "Longest Survivors" and other interesting stats. I know a few people who only kill because leaderboard stats.

Which doesn't really make any sense. ^^

1. This is peripheral vision to balance out the fact that Arma has a limited field of view, unlike in real life where you have a much wider field of view. I actually prefer to have the peripheral markers on, as it helps spot things you would not see in periphery. It also only works on things within a certain range, so if a PKer is outside of that range its moot.

2. Another Arma mechanic, built into the design of the aircraft, its pointless in this game mode, so no big deal. If people really do want it removed then it would mean a replacement of the air vehicle in the game, from memory there is no air vehicle in Arma 2 or OA that does not have a radar system.

3. They are NATO weapons found at NATO camps, so it does make sense why they are there. The disadvantages of them is they are loud and have huge muzzle flash. I picked off a PKer at the airfield purely because I could see the muzzle flash from his hiding spot in the woods. The 107 is overkill especially on game modes that have range/Id tags, making it easier to snipe from very long range. Regardless, the sound of that rifle is heard for a long long way, attracting everyones attention.

4. This I do agree with, it makes supply and searching for more ammo redundant, not sure how the Dev's can fix this as even if its switched locally, it does not stop server hopping to find more nearby (airfield spawn then respawn for example).

5. NVG's have there place, are fairly rare and I've never found a pair despite playing this since shortly after its release. Its true that the PKers love them, but you know the best way to deal with it? Toss flares everywhere and bolt - it is blinding for NVG's.

6. Agree totally, if we can alter the leaderboards (I noticed they are removed on the server I am currently playing on), so that it shows longest life/zombies killed etc - basically some of what the debug screen shows; it may, MAY reduce the Pkers who just go for points. I've come across a lot of bodies with all their gear, guns, food, meds everything which had obviously just been murdered for the sake of a kill. Killing for supplies I can understand, killing for no reason seems a waste of ammo and time.
