Graphical issues, please ?!

Hey,

Like i said before in another topic (which got deleted i think), i really enjoy DayZ so much, it's such a great concept and i love all the work you guys put in.

Problem is, i can't go anywhere near the military places because of the enormous amount of glitches i get. It's so damn frustrating, i've literally tried everything i could find on these forums. From changing every possible set of settings ingame, to reinstalling my entire computer. Nothing fixes it.

I haven't been playing DayZ that long but what i hear from people, these glitches only appeared after a certain update. Thus making me think it's something relatively easy to fix. However still no fix, can't find ANY decent response to any progress in fixing it. The game is pretty much useless to me now cause i can't get any good loot and therefor have such a huge disadvantage to others. I've heard so many people dealing with this issue aswell, and a lot of them just quit playing cause there is really no point like this.

Like i said before, i love DayZ, i want to spread the word about this awesome game. But do i really want to recommend a game that's unplayable atm?

I'm just afraid stuff like this, especially without response from Dayz staff will be a gamebreaking deal for a lot of players, which would be a really bad thing.

Can anyone with actual insight in the matter tell me if this is gonna be fixed any time soon?

What I do to overcome this is, get to the point where it happens without a right click zoom or binocs, abort and exit completely, DayZ Comm I use to check recent and re-join. I can then run around without issue.

It seems important to do this when you are at the point that no zoom is causing it, as for a fix, god knows, but it seems to be the dead soldiers around certain areas that cause it?

When I have this issue I fix it simply by switching the "video memory" to lower value and to default value immediately after.

I have yet to find anything that fixes it for me, like OP cant go near military areas at all, NWA, Stary, I get anywhere near them I am blinded.

The only thing we can do at the moment is to just wait for a patch that will fix it. I believe it occurs from Items, Buildings or Props which miss collides with the ground or other objects, to then cause a huge holographic version.

First of all, the issue is well known and documented around these boards; in fact, Rocket has attempted (unsuccessfully for most of us) to fix the issue in the latest dayz version 1.7.2.5.

Im guessing a proper fix will be found eventually, until then however, let me put this to you: I have looted stary and NWAF on various servers (with various populations, i.e. low mid high/full) dozens of times despite the graphics bugs. In fact, in the early weeks, when people had no way of fixing it even temporarily, it probably covered my activites quite nicely. The key, just like in all of dayz really, is not to panic, and to know where youre going and why. If you end up dawdling in the tents at stary, looking at all of them for extended periods of time, yes you will be found out eventually. Get in, (without a zombie escort!) identify and grab what you want, and slip back out unseen.

So far, I have only been killed once due to a graphics bug (I saw the guy, I tried to hide and/or circle around to get him, lost him in the bug, he got me before I could find him again, and tbh I probably could have taken a blind shot that wouldve killed him, he was that close. I just didnt dare).

I have been killed dozens of times by hackers, though. So .. that last bit was just to give you some perspective, too, when complaining about this bug. It is a nuisance, yes, but it does not make the game unplayable, not by a long shot. And lets be honest, the best gear isnt found in the spots where the gfx bugs are anyway. We all know the best gear is in the hands of the guy around the next corner. Just saying. And theres hundreds of km² without gfx bugs, too.

I haven't seen my problem anywhere, i don't know if it's just my computer, but i've been having graphics problems today. I havent had any problems before this, and its basically a shaking of the background and parts of my player when I move. If i try to turn, the background stays where it is as if i didn't turn for half a second, then updates, then stops for a half second again, and it does this until i stop turning or moving. I tried changing my graphics settings and flushing, but nothing works. Is anyone else having this problem? Is it just my computer?
