Idea for Standalone/Future Update. Types of Infections.

Recommended Posts

Ok, let me explain:

Bacterial infections are caused by getting hit by zombies(tiny chance), bleeding for 60 seconds and other sick players. You are able to take antibiotics instantly to cure the infection and stop your blood from going down to 6k. You also transmit Viral and Bacterial infections, the latter being the more common.

Viral infections are caused by being close to people with Bacterial infections and cannot be treated with antibiotics instantly, the character will lose blood slower than bacterial infections and can only take antibiotics after losing 1500 blood. In both infections characters may cough, sputter, mild disorientation, shaky screen, or vomit which dehydrates. Also while carrying a Viral infection, sugary drinks will replenish 50% of what it usually does and hunger and thirst reduce much faster.

The Immune System of the character makes it less likely to catch a bacterial infection after you've already caught one, the bleeding time and sick players will less likely affect the likeliness of ever catching a bacterial infection twice is very low. Viral infections are only one per life so after catching one, you don't need to worry about a sick friend again. However, if you do catch a bacterial infection you are not protected from viral infections from other sick players.

If you are unsure about anything comment and I will do my best to explain.

Perhaps if a player who is infected "dies" from it they will fall to the ground. While the players character wont technically be dead, they wont have anymore control and they will go to a "You Are Infected" screen. This is pretty much the same as dying and they will have to re-spawn like normal. About 20 seconds later, they rise up as a zombie and attack anyone nearby.
