I play DayZ solo, and I have finally gained all the necessary equipment to live 'up north' off the land.

Its a Shame that I have been searching for two hours for a non human that I can gut and use to replenish my blood, but to no avail. Maybe I am unlucky. Do you as a solo survivor in the wilderness feel there should be more game?

I don't expect it to be their waiting for me, but when I'm being sneaky there should at least be some kind of prey available.

I also don't mean that my life in DayZ will be spent hiding out in the forest(not that that's not totally awesome!!), as I would have to journey into villages for supplies and maybe pick off a passing bandit or survivor that crosses my path that has supplies I desperately need to survive,

Basically I'm asking if you feel there should be more wildlife available to hunt or is it just me being unlucky?

No, i think it's fine as it is. I've never had a problem finding meat if i put my mind to it and there are many smaller animals that are easy to miss, like rabbits and chicken.

Chicken are found in villages and rabbits in fields.

Keep your eyes open and look in logical places and you'll find meat. If you don't want to work for it stick to canned food. :)

I once desperately searched for an animal to slaughter for two days, only to find 2 cows and 2 sheep the next day within moments of logging in.

All in all I think the animal population is fine, you usually find something in a reasonable amount of time.

there is always a cow and a goat at NE airport, also you can find boars and rabbits int the nearby woods

I've spent 30 minutes or so hunting on a few occasions but other than that I tend to stumble across a boar or something within a reasonable amount of time. Considering the amount of meat and benefits you get from the kill I think the current population is reasonable.

Living 'oop north' has always been harsh.

I can vouch for that as a Northumberland lad...
