Thermal (DayZ) 11 Posted August 18, 2012 What processor does your server and what is your CPU usage?
kraze1994 1 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) My server is being run off of an E5-2690 and CPU usage hangs around 20-30% in a virtual environment. Edited August 18, 2012 by kraze1994
Thermal (DayZ) 11 Posted August 18, 2012 With how many players?
kraze1994 1 Posted August 19, 2012 It depends, what I have noticed is that DayZ likes to hang around 20% CPU even with low player counts, With around 40 people in the server it has gotten up to 30%-35%. This is while being run from a four core VDS. So that percentage is not the entire processor, just two of the cores.
Thermal (DayZ) 11 Posted August 19, 2012 Have you noticed more of a load on one core than the other? Because on my server, I have the affinity set to all 8 cores but it still likes to be on one core and will sometimes max it out at 100% and all of the others will be 0%. Thermal (DayZ) 11 Posted August 19, 2012 Found out the problem, for some reason arma doesnt like to be on more than two cores, when I put it on more than two, it goes down to one core.
kraze1994 1 Posted August 19, 2012 In some cases, yes. However for the most part ArmaII will work with multiple cores. I would recommend not setting your affinity and let Windows bounce the process around threads, it does a pretty good job of that already.
