Why would a server autokill me and take all my gear ?

Recommended Posts

I just logged into the following server.........

US#500 - Multiplay:: A zombie killed my BAYBEE!

74.209.160.98:2902

And instead of loading my game it just showed me the grey screen and said 'Malau has been killed'. It then took all my weapons and kicked me back to the beach - same kills score, same humanity - so basically the server just stole all my hard earned gear and lied when it said it 'killed' me.

Why ? How ? What happened ? Is it a hacked server ? Or did I have a corrupt save file ?

Erm, probably someone killed you while you were loading.

Im pretty sure he wouldn´t have same score if that happened, I have this happen to me twice, I spawned back in with my ghillie suit and my inventory was empty, not even starting gear.

Lets go in likely order.

You were killed legit.

Hacker killed you.

Bug.

Glitch.

You are/were on a private server with no hive connection.

Thanks for those replies.

I don't think I was killed legit. I always logout in random forests far away from anyone. So the chances of this ONE other person (SirFartsalot, with a ping of 237) happening to be on the same random bit of forest, happening to spot me in my Ghillie suit, prone under a pine tree, whilst the game is loading - is infinitesimally small.

And like I said, I still have my stats.

You guys can imagine how it feels to lose some SERIOUS hardware (and I never, ever murdered a single player with it). It's killed any urge to go back to the game and start over. Especially when I don't know what happened here and that it could happen at anytime again.

Same thing has happened to me three times since I have put on my ghillie. I just spawn at the beach with nothing no backpack or anything but the ghillie still on and same kill stats. But if you can get back to your body before the server restarts you can get all your gear back from where you died when you spawned in.

I think it's safe to say that ghillie suits will never work properly considering their history.

Does it even really matter? You are dead, not much you can do about it. Welcome to alpha, have a fun time.

I just wanted some opinions from others who might have experienced the same thing.

I decided to carry on, and made it from the respawn at Komorovo, via Balota, Cherno, Bor, Drozino and Green Mountain all the way to Stary Sober without finding a single weapon in all the Deer Stands along the way (not even a Makarov !) - just an axe. So, it is exciting again. Even without my 2 thermal image rifles and gizmos.

You very well might have been killed by a scripter, but never forget that it could be you and ONE OTHER GUY and you could be literally ANYWHERE on the map and he can kill you no matter how remote. I know, it happened to me. Also you really should detach yourself from any and all gear, it makes the game much more fun. You are a tester anyway it is guaranteed that things will be wiped or crash at some point.

Having said all that it could have been a scripter like I said but even if it was my 2 points above are still 100% valid.

Don't let the dicks get to you. Detach from the gear and have fun, don't quit.
