Cannot join servers with DayZ Commander

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just installet DayZ Commander after using PlayWithSix, but when I try to join a server, a pop-up window appears saying:

There was an error launching Arma2 with DayZ. Please check your setting, verify your game directories, and try again.

Details: The system cannot find the file specified.

What does this mean, how do I solve it? I could play with PlayWithSix, but I want to be able to play with DayZ Commander.

Thank you in advance.

I have, but still the problem persists. I have also tried reinstalling DayZ Commander, which didn't help either. Thanks for your reply.

I had the same problem, check your directories under settings and check if the steam folder has a capital letter. If not change this in ALL three directories then update and it should work.

It should look like this: c:\program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

Instead of c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

Can you explain how to do all that? like a step by step on how to get there and what not?

Just find the file under that area and rename the folders. Just right click on the folder needed, select rename, and rename it to what is needed.

do this.

1) Open up Commander

2) Click Settings

3) Look at Extra Parameters. If there's anything here, clear it.

4) Look at your directories and make sure they're correct (this is probably your issue). Here are mine.

e:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\@DayZ

I've had the same problem, so far with a bought game from retailer the game was working, had a break and came back to it to find my directory was missing when my game was install still.. So went surfing to find out whats changed, which was that Gamespy no longer  supports arma2 and had passed it onto Steam... I Know the game wasn't being recognized by Steam or Dayz Commander, decided to activate the game in steam by using the retailed key code on booklet and it was accepted by steam... It's is now downloading Arma 2 and ArrowHead into a steam folder, so I've uninstall the original off the cd version, and waiting to see if that works using steam and hopefully Dayz commander will recognize the directory ... Soon find out, and keep you posted...

Have you fixed the problem yet? I'm currently having the same issue and have tried everything but steam.
