Koala (DayZ) 4 Posted August 18, 2012 It could run but to have an enjoyable and smooth experience, i recommend a custom build desktop or a high end laptop.
Eddie Blackjack 1 Posted August 18, 2012 I have a slightly more powerful laptop, and it definitely can. However, you will not be impressed with the graphics. If you are set on getting it though, I reccomend a simple overclocking program like this:http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htmGood luck, and enjoy your laptop! aggressivek 22 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) You won't be able to play on normal settings, probably low settings only. Edited August 18, 2012 by Aggressive
n'Zapador 20 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) For reference I am playing on a laptop with -> i7 2670QM 2.2 GHz, GTX 560M 3 GB, 16 GB PC3-12800and I have spend quite some time playing around with settings. Pretty much no matter what I do it will not run smooth (smooth as in 60+ fps at any given time), while it often is around 60 fps it also quite often drops much lower. An interesting thing is that the resolution seems to have literally no impact on fps. I have the EXACT same fps on 1920x1080 as on 1280x720.And yeah I think it should be fairly capable of running the game, but by no means expect to run it with any fancy settings turned on.Something along these lines should work well..Set your resolution to your screens native, ie same as you run in Windows :-)Texture detail: Very highVideo memory: Very highAF: HighAA: DisabledATOC: Grass (Or disabled)Terrain detail: Very lowObjects detail: Very high (setting this to a low value may prevent you from seeing people at long distances)Shadow detail: NormalHDR quality: NormalPPAA: DisabledPostprocess effects: Disabled (never consider turning it on...)These settings will make your game look like this:http://zapador.org/_z/dayz/caps/settings1.pnghttp://zapador.org/_z/dayz/caps/settings2.png Edited August 18, 2012 by n'Zapador
