bazbake 456 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Short and sweet. The M107 and AS50 rifles weigh 30 pounds. This is two to three times the weight of the other sniper rifles and up to four times the weight of the assault rifles and shotguns. The M136 recoilless rifle/rocket launcher only weighs as much as the M24 but the inventory system forces you to replace your backpack to use it. Meanwhile, the .50 caliber rifles are twice the size but go in the primary weapon slot. The .50 caliber rifles are a foot longer than the other sniper rifles and about three times as heavy but get treated like they're the same class of weapon as other small arms. They're not. Instead of Videogame LogicTM, it'd probably be a good idea to rethink how encumbrance and weapon slots work with weapons over a certain size replacing your backpack. Small arms in the primary slot, one-handed weapons/handguns in the secondary slot, and oversized weapons that you can't wield standing up going in the rocket launcher/backpack slot.tl;dr .50 caliber anti-materiel rifles are HUGE. Put them in the rocket launcher slot replacing backpacks. Edited August 18, 2012 by BazBake
Beafy 11 Posted August 18, 2012 Slightly inclined to agree, instead of this though, I would like to see the 50. ammo take two slots instead of 1, to nerf the amount of fucking snipers in the game and balence up the PvP and Survival.I don't think nerfing the gun will make a diffrence, but nerfing the ammo will. Profaith 2 Posted August 18, 2012 You realize with it taking two slots, snipers would only have room for 10 to 15 shots at max on them before they are required to open up backpack...what happens if a group of people pull up and you need to give support..."Sorry guys gotta open up backpack and pull out more ammo", its a good idea to nerf the campers, but it has a huge unintended consequence on people who actually know how to play the game... The rifle should take the place of your backpack AND the ammo should be two slots.
mercuss 4 Posted August 18, 2012 I agree there needs to be some kind of encumbrance/weight/weapon size system. The anti-materiel rifles should impact your mobility and the amount you can carry. They also should not be able to be put in backpacks. Perhaps carrying the huge rifles should lower your movement speed. This would also tie into the need for an endurance system. No more sprinting endlessly across the map or running from zombies that can never possibly catch you. Carrying the heavier weapons would also tired you out faster.Running around through the woods with weapons as big as the AS50 and M107 should have some kind of impact, it should not be on par with running around with Lee Enfield. hiush 3 Posted August 22, 2012 I agree makes no sense you being able to carry a .50 cal like an smg it should take your backpack slot and your primary slot (like in regular arma)

Kyus Jin 1 Posted August 22, 2012 I agree on the subject as well I have a bigger issue with the sniper rifles though. And that's the accuracy of them its all ass backwards. An M107 holds a 3 MOA its semiautomatic piece of shit yet in this game its a god weapon. Mean while the M24 hold 1/4 MOA out to at least 900m but in this game it can only reach out to 800 and its weak as piss. Not to mention the mil hold's are all off way off like not even close to what it should be. And then there's the DMR where the mill hold's actually change once you zoom in I didn't know scopes could do that.
