few server questions

i recently got my own server and got a few questions

is there a way to make my server day time only?cause i know my server time dependsa on the host times server but thats gmt+1 and its dark to early for me, really hate that, rather have full day server then something else

also we had a hacker that changed day to night, how is that possible then?

any way i can reset the time?

also some servers have those messages pop up once in a while in bottom left.

how do i do that and time them? please help me with those questions

When you as an admin restart the mission, when back in the mission lobby there is probably a button somewhere saying something like "mission parameters".

There should be some way for an admin to set the mission variables.

What kind of control do you have over the phisical server ?

Did you installed the files for the server yourself ?

also i would like to know if voicechat can be enabled while global chat is on, only in direct communication, so ppl cant spam the global chanenl but can talk in direct chat?

When you go onto your server, do you know how to make yourself admin on that server, and then control the server true the game ?

When ingame warn everybody you are going to restart the server, then type #missions What happens then ?

"normally" on a Arma dedicated server the admin logs in and can control the server straight true the game, he has a lot of options to set mission variables and such, i have seen servers with all vchat enabled, so it must be possible.

I'm not a dayz server admin, but i do have experiance with Arma dedi servers, it should not be that different.

if in days the setup of variables is done by only scripts, you probably have to alter some settings in some config file on your server

Did you get a password for the server login in the game< so not your server login admin menu thingy, i mean a password to login as an ADMIN inside the game on your server ?

I better start reading the forum in the server section and find out how its done.

Normaly in Arma you can be an active admin by login in you type then : Well better look at this site, scroll down a little and there is a list of commands to control your server straight out of the game, you beeing an active administrator :)

Its just i don't know if the Dayz mod does work this way, but dayz is just a mod for arma and i presume, the server setup is the same as for arma default.

i can login into the game yeah due to the #login pass command

So you have access to a mission config file or you mean a server config file ?

Try the #missions command, but warn your players on the server you are going to restart the server.

Then after the #missions command, what options can you find?

If the #missions does not give you any missions options, then it is done true a mission config file.

You have to find that file then and edit it and resave it.
