user1042 0 Posted August 17, 2012 I've been looking for a way to start a non persistent private way to play DayZ with a few friends. We are looking to start from scratch each night and see how we do if every time we start our DayZ session we were all forced to start over, Reorient to find each other and so on. I had found a way to do just this with instructions on how to create your own password locked private server that is unable to save any data off server resets. Essentially doing exactly what we want. My question is whether or not this is considered as anything that can get your account banned. We would like to be able to use the instructions but if there is a chance we will get our Keys locked we want nothing to do with it.
Allie (DayZ) 97 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) It would be nice if an official could tell us, but i can tell you that "normally" you will not get banned or get you cd key revoked.I myself am a Arma player and the dayz mod is just a mod for arma. Arma would normally encourage moding and editing. If you have the correct instructions, it is even posible to have your own hive database server, this way your server will be persistant :)I myslef encourage other "new" arma players who got here because of Dayz to try and experiment. This is why there will be a stand alone version, the new setup will probably be a free game with a monthly payed membership to a public Dayz server. (i'm wildly guessing)Arma is something completely different then any other FPS or alike "game", Arma is a militairy simulator, its an open game engine, its open to give people the chance of contributing to the "game". With Arma you are able to create ANY "game" you like. I have seen alien shooters, playmobile warz, second world war games, its really unlimited opportunities with this "open source simulator"I think there will be 2 "games" coming up in the future, one will be a big Dayz standalone community, and the other will be 1001 variations on the Dayz mod in Arma III :)Experimenting with Lingor is one way of introducing "new Arma Dayz players" to the world of Arma, a world that made the creation of Dayz possible. It's not fair to have everybody go stand alone in the future while not been able to see what "engine" made this all possible, and maybe get interested in this open editable world super BIS simulator called "operation Flashpoint/Arma"I hope you have fun and will be able to make an well thought out decision on how to play these "games".It will also make you better understand thatthere is a price to pay for such an extencive open world simulator....... hackers.Which in my experiance, Battle Eye has always been able to keep them to a minimum, you know , once a couple of months you might have some as**** fuc*** up your game.Good luck and lots of fun.
