When to KoS

Recommended Posts

I saw the topic title and thought... When to KoS? When you see them...

At the moment I kill anyone I see given the opportunity, if they're near me there is a chance I will get killed so I kill them first. However if theyve got no long range weapons and I'm at a distance I will usually ignore em. Had some guy who I think was creeping up on me and my mate today, he got knocked unconscious by zombies and asked for help over VOIP I tried but he died... saw he had quite the gun and equipment but was literally around the corner from us when he got knocked down and didn't fire off a shot. Even that makes me think... if I hadn't of killed him when I saw him I would of got killed myself due to his loadout and suspicious actions by not firing back at the zombies.

The only time I would hold fire is if I saw someone in a hero outfit in Cherno/Elektro, if I saw them elsewhere I would kill them but in the cities I feel like there is a high chance they'd be offering assistance to people... though the people they offer assistance to might kill me and therefore it would be better if said person didn't receive assistance...

Its a vicious circle and for those small moments I meet other people outside my group usually the easiest and most secure decision is to kill them.

I think having no side chat has made it even harder to meet other people inside a server, the distance people need to get to use VOIP makes me feel insecure I would prefer that our initial contact was long range to begin with.

When you KoS

When you're protecting someone or something and the risk of that person nearing what you're protecting is unacceptable, --> Protecting a friend, car, heli etc.

When you turn the corner and you see someone point blank with a weapon trained on you.

When you have high value loot, and you're alone.

When you're outnumbered and attacking could level the playing field (1:2 or 1:3)

You're in the airfield or in the near by area.

When you don't KoS

When you don't give a crap about dying (overwrites all reason listed above)

Your alone and have very little gear

You see someone else alone as well

You have all the cards (I.e a friend with a sniper looking at the interaction)

You outnumber the person

He's unarmed

Your bored

Oh and most obviously, when you think you'll lose the firefight

-They have something valuable

-I'm hungry and I need water

-They have military grade weaponry (always a KoS)
