How do saving tents and cars work?

IT seems when i save one tent and then put up another and save it only one seems to keep the gear. Same with the cars. Can someone please explain how this works. ??

the new patch broke tents again. So you can only survive with what you can carry

OK but when it was working can you save gear to more then one tent ?

Also like to see a counter on the tent saying like 10/20 or what have you. Sick of putting gear in and it going to to the wolfs
