dutch_miller 159 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) No events planned yet, we're more working on bringing in new organizations. But we really should plan for an event, I'll keep that in mind. The initial event, I think, is very important to show people that we actually are active. I'm fairly certain a lot of people expect us to do nothing more than talk on the forums.I predict it will also be the deciding factor for several organizations as to whether or not they join. Those who are holding back (if any) are likely only going to join once we get going and become successful. Edited August 18, 2012 by Dutch Miller
.Ender. 42 Posted August 18, 2012 the debates within the community is the whole purpose of this posting. It brings those that want to help together for a 'greater cause' than just running around collecting the best of the best and then being bored. it also brings those in who like killing players for easy looting (because they're too crappy to go get it themselves for fear of being shot and losing all their hard work). It actually will create more organized bandit factions im sure, because as their job gets harder, they'll team up. Its not a bad way to look at it.My first day playing I was literally unarmed and looking to find my first loot. two players ran out of a barn and into the woods. they were running from the zeds they agro'd. then the zeds turned on me! i ran in the players directions knowing they had rifles and was thinking 'they will see a player chased by THIER zeds and will kill them for me, and maybe offer some advice or a cheap weapon or something'. as i got near and didnt run directly towards them (to be cautious on their behalf), they both fired at me and shot me dead. i lol'd...i didnt get mad. i got my first real lesson in DayZ...trust no one you dont really know. very realistic if you ask me. im curious to see how far this goes...i for one am hoping it turns into a neat society that branches off other sister-societies so you can sort of be walking around and know where 'safe' or 'dangerous' territories are.

cyanyde 165 Posted August 20, 2012 You act like we need to team up to dismantle this? First of all, Bandit clans exist. Second of all, Individual/ small team bandits are much more dangerous than a large group assault. Small teams, and individuals can be mobile, hidden, dangerous, unpredictable, and most of all? Dicks. You act as though this "coalition" will actually achieve something? Provide a safe haven for all those who transferred over from hello kitty: island adventure, and are tired of hiding in the woods in their soiled underwear? You think THOSE people are the ones who will repel the inevitable continuous bandit attacks? The ones who make rage posts about how everyone should be friends, and they're "NEVER GUNNA BE A BANDIT"?? lul. Whoever used the example of the medics of the wasteland is so far off. Medics are just random non-partisan helpers / targets. No one is going to work hard to kill fucking medics. For what? They don't give a shit, they just get more supplies from the hospital, and usually they don't have anything we can't fucking get ourselves. Real sociopaths don't need medics, and we don't see them. We don't care about dying. We'll enjoy killing tryhard prissy carebear survivors though. That's for sure. And please tell me....who the hell.............would be a double agent for carebears? On the off chance you had a hypocrite that was willing to infiltrate and attack a bandit group (what bandit group worth shit recruits off the fucking street before a raid...a raid that wasn't publicly announced....so.....how would anyone infiltrate in the first place...? We're not retarded..."BANDITS RECRUITING FOR RAIDING COALITION TONIGHT! NO QUESTIONS ASKED!" ....Only survivors do that shit. It still wouldn't matter, the bandits would laugh it off, congratulate the infiltrator - kill him, then regear and head out...because that's how much death means to us. N. O. T. H. I. N. G.Ahaha what a great post!Like I said, you talk a good talk..For one, Bandit clans are just a bunch of ragtag buddies who played COD or CS together in another life..It doesn't amount to anything but a hill of empty bean cans..For two, the dudes I play with, and *alot* of the other coalition members, are experienced military. (or ex in some cases)For three, this coalition already has achieved something, so we're already a step towards our goals. As for the double agent part.. that is just my way of inviting paranoia into your little " bandit clans"I can pretty much rest assured that one of your little ass-hat friends will blow you up just for fun! :)As for living and dying part. Imagine a world where us little "hello kitty: island adventure" veterans hunt down your pathetic bandit ass no matter what server you decide to hide out in..Gonna be a fun next couple of months. :)

Graz (DayZ) 146 Posted August 20, 2012 I see no fear, all the bandits, sociopaths, murderers, and anarchists are horny as hell for this coalition to get started. We can't wait to clock in. I give it a couple days tops before the coalition begins to crumble (if it even gets off the ground) due to mistrust, bandits, murderers, thieves, in-fighting, adrenaline junkies, fear, and double agents. We can't wait...who on the bandit forum is scared? We're lining up to take part in torching your Carebear Coalition. Most of our "care-bear" medics are tailed by 2-3 extremely bored body guards that have been in far more difficult situations then hiding near electro's coward hill. In fact on a populated server, somewhere around half of our missions have a gun fight at one point, more often then not the opposition is wielding a scoped rifle. Essentially engaging a bandit is a victory, every pair of eyes on our security detail is one less that the fresh spawns and medics have to worry about. What happens to the coalition is anyone's guess. It's objectives aren't defined (and clear goals may never be set) so I won't bother trash talking on that.Currently the Coalition is about adding a new experience and changing the culture of Dayz. Even if it crumbles in a week, medics are raped and pillaged, trading camps are satchel charged and patrols are teabagged relentlessly, it will be a success simply for existing and the attempt.Personally most of the para-military components of this organization are spoiling for a fight. I'm yet to fall to another player on a TWM rescue mission, so to all the bandits and wanna be Ned Kelly's, bring your equipment, bring your A-game and bring your beans, I will enjoy taking them.
Cori 7 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) I am going to make an official twitter for the Coalition. I will be giving away the password to every leader of each group so that everyone can make posts._________________________On another note, I am happy to see the Freeside Trading Company (My website and Team Speak) to be part of the Coalition. Hopefully things will work out on a main server and we can get something HUGE working soon. Edited August 20, 2012 by Cori
kayakinack 57 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) I usually enjoy calling myself a bandit, UNTIL I come to the forums for some interesting reading and find ignorant kids babbling on about carebears, liberals, and dirty underpants. Oh well, I should have known that my association with these fools, no matter how vague, would annoy me to no end. Oh well, moving on... I am part of a rather organized bandit clan that I hear the FTC enjoyed dealing with until some hacker ruined it a few weeks ago, it appears the start of the fall semester has diminished our numbers but I hope to get enough on to attack the trading post some more, ESPECIALLY after I heard the last one was guarded by some serious firepower. Keep your eyes open FTC hopefully you shall see us again, or at least feel our wrath from the shadows. And as a part of that bandit clan I'm happy to see this announcement and wish your group much success because if you have none I will be forced to return to killing lone wolves in the south, at least until artifacts get fixed. This Coalition will hopefully bring an entirely new dynamic to DayZ, one which bandits will surely become a part of instead of fearing/hating. I think the majority of fear that can be seen on the forums (by bandits) is a combination of lone wolves who trust no one and thus will not group up; people like the OP of the End of Banditry thread who are encouraging the dynamic, and the sad majority: the people that feel their method of play is the only fun/real/manly/etc method of play and therefore have no tolerance for the opinions or playstyles of others. Although unfortunate, this reaction must be expected from the newer generations of gamers still arguing with parents over bedtimes and spending their allowance on video games. I hope the Coalition will take the ignorant posts with a grain of salt and not think these fools to be their only opposition because you will be sadly-mistaken and ill-prepared when a group of organized and disciplined bandits meets you on the battlefield. I warn you because I want to ensure you are not a weak opponent because then you would be a boring opponent. To the folks worried about hackers, it is a sad reality that many Americans learned after 9/11 that when you let the terrorists dictate what you do and how you live your life then you let the terrorists win. "United We Stand" ring a bell? Hackers are nothing more than virtual terrorists: do not let them dictate your game experience just as you will not let them dictate your every day life in the real world. If you do, they win. DazTroyer 227 Posted August 20, 2012 Seems to me.... Without the bandits the Coalition probably wouldn't exist, without the Coalition the bandits would get bored sniping noobs in Cherno. Let the fun begin :)
Cori 7 Posted August 20, 2012 We now have a twitter. I have yet to get in contact with most of the leaders. If you guys could send me PM, would be great.
jukaga 271 Posted August 20, 2012 This sounds good, but Im interested to see how it pans out. Bandits weapon of choice and mode of operation, Ghillie suits, scoped rifles, and ridgelines. A squad of bandits who have decent aim, ( something thats not really a factor with the simple to use sniper rifles in this mod ) can possibly take out a full patrol from up to 1600meters away, whithout the targets ever hearing a shot, and do it purely to grief and not even go loot bodies. Thats alot of area that a squad like that can overwatch. Then you have to account for the hackers, griefers, and pvp'ers in general. I commend what your trying to do, time will tell if it works though. Please find me a server that has the fog to 1600m and beyond. Lucky to get 800m visibility it seems. QuadPatman 0 Posted August 20, 2012 I would actually like to see two large groups such as this one form. It would give new players a way into the game and create a huge rivalry for the more experienced players.

The Aquatic Land Walrus 565 Posted August 23, 2012 I would be interested in joining this large group.Currently, i don't have a clan, and operate as a friendly lone wolf. I had plans to, once i get a gun, set out to try and find people to give loot to. This seems perfect for me. Is there a way to apply for a person without a clan?

glc2428@live.com.au 1 Posted August 24, 2012 Hi, I am currently running on a few Au/Nz & Us servers, have helped and tried to help a few people , but twice have been set up and killed.. Hard not to get cynical but still tryin to help out.. I am on most Evenings, I do carry weapons, but thats just for self defence against Zombies, and Known Bandits who have already done the dirty, ( I keep a list and wont be suckered in next time.) All others, I will try my best to assist, I will not fire on you unless fired upon. P.S. the last guy to kill me , admired I came to his aid, so he said, but killed me anyway
Heaves 4 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Who said anything about anything about this being a form of Government? In a nutshell, we just want to create new experiences for everyone to enjoy.Lets see... The Coalition can create a society. Using CQF and TPOC’s military presence, we will create a police force, dedicated to protecting the average survivor.Freeside Trading Company will oversee trading centers where survivors can trade equipment they have for equipment they want. The Trusted Medics of the Wasteland will provide medical assistance to wounded and sick survivors, as well as providing mentoring to new or lightly experienced players. Using subtle terms such as: Society, Military, Police, oversee, and Trade? That kind of sounds like the start of a governing body to me!Socialist pricks, you care bears would try something like this.
