Question regarding the Map

Recommended Posts

I got the map in my toolbelt, which I think it goes without saying is a really handy thing to have. I like that I can mark locations on the map, like a spot where I placed my tent, for example. But I'm worried that, in the extremely likely event that I'm killed at some point, that player loots my body, takes whatever they want, etc. Will they be able to read the map complete with all the locations I've marked and then be able to go and loot my tent, etc?

When you double-click on the map, it sets a marker for EVERYONE to see who has a map, alternatively, if you shift+click, it sets a waypoint only YOU can see, but this waypoint isn't enabled on every server.

Hes right, your kinda in deep shit since your marking stuff directly on the map. EVERYONE on the server saw what your indicated on the map lol. NEVER place markers like that.

Or use this to your advantage

-- find a nice ambush location

-- place tempting map marker

-- pick off the noobs as they come to loot your stuff

Or, use the map coordinates to keep track of stuff, and just write it on a notepad that you keep nearby.

If you zoom into the map, you can see your exact reference point on the top and left sides..

You can also use this information with your squad mates to give them an idea of your location. ;)
