Cant ban hackers

I was on my server last night and 2 hackers were teleporting to players and killing them. I tried to ban them with the ban button and the ban command and could not. All I could do was kick them. They would log back in and continue killing players. Then, somehow the hackers crashed my server and I had to perform a restart. They left us alone afterwards. Probably to rein havok on another server.

Is there a trick to banning people?? I was logged in as admin, and don't know what I was doing wrong.

If the Ban button does not work at least try get there ID. number.

Ingame type : #userlist and find there name and number.

If you are a known admin i presume you can give your information to BIS or Battle Eye

Were you trying to ban them ingame (whilst playing), through the BERCON.exe, or through a third-party RCON tool?

I never have an issue with banning people

You can always ban them afterwards using the GUID and the bans.txt file.

Guess I need to learn to ban. If someone wants to walk me through the steps of doing so, i would very much appreciate it.

Download the bans.txt file, add the ban in this format:

guid -1 any text you want (this will appear when they try and log in)

Stop server, delete bans file, re-upload your amended one, start server.

You don't even need to stop your server, you can use the loadbans command if you have RCon. :-)

When I open the bans.txt there is nothing in the file. I added that line

guid -1 any text you want (this will appear when they try and log in)

to an empty file and nothing happened. I guess I need everything in that file. Could one of you post the entire bans.txt that I need? And how do I unban someone??

edit:- Also if your bans.txt is empty u prob should check & see your scripts.txt & remoteexec.txt & createvehicle.txt are there.
