Server Testing

Can I lock my server to test that this downgrade has fixed saving?

Every time the server gets restarted we get completely rolled back, Vehicles transforming into different vehicles, tents being emptied...

So I've downgraded the server version, Can I lock the server to test this so that we can actually test it? Otherwise I can't be sure of whats going on...

Sure why not, if you are testing.

I don't think it wise tho of going back to former version.

It is very good for server admins to test and see what option you as an admin have.

The locking is more about server owners and their friends playing to secure weapons, vehicles etc...

So I'm allowed to lock with me and a buddy so we can test the saving?

It's the second time this has happened, and I don't wanna spend time getting vehicles again just to have them despawn on restart, so I'd like to test that they're saving, before I let my clan, and others waste time getting them...

Yeah, feel free to lock it for an hour to test things out.

If anyone bitches and write up a Server Report, replay to it pointing out this thread.

Can you edit the title to include the server number?

Also, you probably aren't going to have any luck testing with vehicles as there may not be any spawned. It'll likely take a couple of days before they start spawning correctly.

Locking your server for 5 minutes maximum for maintenance/restarts is acceptable. Locking your server so you and a friend can login and find/repair/test vehicles and tents is not. Regardless if it's under the pretense of testing, you're obtaining items and moving around in-game with no risk of other players logging in and being in your area. That type of behavior is explicitly what is trying to be avoided by not allowing servers to be locked. It's in the rules.

4. Your server must not be password protected or locked.

BEC connection flood #lock is allowed but must be set to no more then five minutes.

Servers may also be locked briefly before scheduled restarts, again, this may not exceed five minutes.
