Warning on spawning close to somebody

Recommended Posts

Simple. Display a warning and "continue yes/no" dialog when you're going to spawn really close to somebody.

I had to kill two people today just because they warped in my face. Some other guys raged in chat they got killed before they could even take control of their chars. Yes you should log off in safe locations but nowhere is really safe and logoff still doesnt reliably save your pos. f.e. I got killed before I could even see and I was in some random forest near Dubrovka. Now I got killed after some good killstreaks and days of surviving because my position didnt save and I got for some reason warped back into town where I was ~5mins before that and again.. got shot before the loading text faded out.

I like it but wonder if we couldn't go a step further and just code it so you can't spawn within a certain range of others?

This would also discourage logging out in very popular places (NW barracks, etc.) because they are popular and you might be trying quite awhile to get back in at that same place and would make server hopping for loot farming that much more difficult. It would encourage only logging out in the wilderness or other truly "safe" (not well traveled) places.

This, sir, is a brilliant idea.

Yep. A lot of these incidents occur with serverhopping people. The guy I shot spawned in one of the tents in S. Sobor and other one in a mall.

However how would you implement that? Deny the spawn totally or use a script to find 2x2 clear flat piece of terrain, preferably near bush or in a forest with m distance from the guy interfering with your logoff spot in the direction opposite of guy-logoff spot.
