Zombie Aggro and Buildings

Recommended Posts

Hey, I noticed that zombie aggro distances works on ground level and ignores height. This can be very frustrating when you're crouching on a roof of some building and you see 20 zombies standing under the building, forcing you to reconnect to lose aggro or you're scavenging a house and zombie jumps you through a wall.

Now the argument how this could be evaded would probably be - prone. But we all know how bugged prone is in buildings, it's extremely hard to get through doors, i even broke my limb today while doing that in supermarket.

I believe the given situations are not intended, so why not disabling sound/sight factors while crouching when player enters buildings or is on a roof? I don't think this could be exploited, because zombies already move towards players even without actually having aggro on them, so chances are you'll already have to deal with the zombie if you want the loot inside the building.

I think disabling sound/sight in buildings would fix the unwanted aggro and forced reconnects and I can't see how this would have negative effects.

What do you guys think?

Bugs are going to be fixed. This is an alpha. This is an alpha. This is an alpha. This is an alpha.

Bug fixes don't go here.

Well I'm just trying to suggest easy short term solution. Because I don't think it's a bug per se, that's how AI seems to work in this game.
