Long story short: We parked our chopper on the Highest silo construction building thing in cherno , when we logged off and on, we spawned at the coast.

Is there any legit way to actually get up there? Or did we lose our chopper because of this bug?

The solution is actually simple. You just have to find another chopper and fly yourself up to it.
