Start camp but not sure how to start.

Looking to make a camp in Dayz for a friend and I, just need to know the best way to work around it so I have a butt load of questions since I am still pretty new.

Do I need tents? Can I just drop Item X at location Y?

How do tents work or don't work, I hear lots of horror stories,

What about servers going down and my gear/tents?

Location Location Location?

Any step by steps or websites about such work rock. It will be a friend and I doing it, we haven't picked a server or place yet.

How often do tents bug out and you lose your stuff? So much until it makes it not worth it or not too much?

Personal i never had a bugged Tent.

If the Tent is empty or Complete Disapeared wait for next Serverrestart.it will come back with a Restart.

And dont try to place a Tent too close to a Tree or inside a Tree,you can build it there sometimes but you cant use/accsess it then.
