Trying to join servers with older Arma revisions

My ARMA is version 95913 and i'm trying to join servers that are versions 95885. I keep getting kicked from the servers and i was wondering if this is the reason? Are newer ARMA versions compatible with the servers that haven't updated their ARMA yet?
