Low FPS & No Items anywhere?

Ok for some strange reason, I disconnected from one server because my friend was having poor fps on it... and so we switched servers.

I logged out of a place normally FILLED with stuff.

When I get back in there was absolutely nothing (i figured server mustve restarted recently), but now I am getting absolutely horrible fps as well.

So we try a different server (as my friend was having the same bad fps). And both of us are still getting horrid FPS, and for some strange reason, no buildings have anything at all in them (even tin cans). They're completely clean. I am too far north for this to mean that people are in them or anything of that nature.
