Interesting new element to insert:Fatigue

Recommended Posts

TL;DR. Insert a new fatigue bar that is both affected by blood levels, food and water levels, and can be generated both with rest both with energy bars.

So basically my idea is this: often i find myself running from berezino to Electrovasdosk, and given that i had food and water...is pretty boring just to run from side to side...I have no necessity to stop in city and find loot, since i have bootle of water which can replenish at the sea, both i have food and food is never a problem.

What if instead we put a fatigue bar that works exactly as food and water.

I mean if the fatigue bar goes to 0 you can't run nomore or maybe your aim gets more tricky.

Basicallly the fatigue could go to zero the more we run, the more we do activities like hunting, running going prone , and for example let'sa say it lasts for 10 minutes.

To replenish the fatigue bar/icon, you or get rest for like two minutes, but it must be something that make you go search for a new element:energy bars/energy drinks, or Anfetamine, or some sort of Drug, or maybe some sort of coffè, but ithink the concept is clear here.

So basically you are very fatigues, your aim gets tricky you can't run no more...we could arrive to the point you could not move, but just the fact you can't run should be enough for the Survivors to find said energy bars. Also food replenish the energy bar but not so much.

I think this is a very good idea, and i hope Devs and Community like it.

The most important idea is this

there is no need to go in city once you find knife and matches...given said bottle of water, and knife and matches, i can stay hide in the wood killing survivors without any real need to go in the cities to find loot..i really don't find reasons to go in woods!

This is by a large margin a very good idea, not like some sort of super hardcore mode but more like something to make the game more interesting.

Yes, ACE type fatigue would really be great. Would also encourage teamwork if people have to share heavy items between each other so they don't get worn out running short distances. 3 players can car a tyre each and run, but 1 person carrying 3 tyres (which I've done several times) is hardly realistic.

Energy bars is good idea too.

Currently we can just run for miles with a horde of zombies after us, till we reach some docks, or a barn to slow them down and lose them, etc.

Agree. Very surprised that there was not such a system of fatigue in the first place, and was just waiting for it to kick in once I had run for several minutes. If editing speed and stance of players, hence animations, was not such a freakin' hassle in this engine, that too could get a more important role in our mod.

Couple of quickies: I would just propose that it gets Some sort of role, albeit not to the extent OP desires where you can't even move at all and so forth, but I would on the other hand suggest it be made entirely impossible to run or even crouch walk in any way. Sitting or still-proning could be stances to have significance. The amount of food in your system should undoubtedly affect how long you can run and how often.

However, presently it's way too unforgiving and irrealistic with the amount you have to both eat and drink all of the time as it is, so that would necessarily (and to no surprise) have to be adjusted and revamped if food/hydration was to have any sort of role in thus a structure of intra-physiological coding. I severely doubt you should be able to take drinking water from the surrounding ocean without any sort of distilling contrapment anyhow, but that's perhaps an entirely different debate.

I strongly support this idea.

I think it would be very interesting to have some kind of calorie level that you must be aware of. The actual numerical value of calories shouldn't be visible to the player, much like you can't see a number the more you get tired in real life, you are just getting tired. This would cause the player to be much more strategic when making survival decisions, knowing that they must conserve energy in the event of a zombie encounter.

i agree..but first the devs must disable the 3rd person view and disable the spotting crosshair...or all of theyr work is just useless. right now you can spot a enemy behind a hill, seeing the distance he actually is.

I'd love the ACE system for this. I'm sure it would recieve alot of hate, but it would be awesome to see some overloaded players run by and fall on their nose. ^^

A basic fatigue system is there. Its not based on weight and it may not stop you from running but it will affect your accuracy.

I always rest my character before going into a dangerzone. (risk of hostile players)
