Servers w/ and w/o my map location?

Recommended Posts

Maybe i'm missing something, but i am trying to figure out how to tell difference between servers that do and don't show your location on the map. It seems a bit random to me. I thought it was the difference between regular/veteran servers, but i joined a few different regular servers and it was hit or miss and i couldn't figure out whether it was nametag display or what.

thanks.

Server option.

Is no real way to tell without joining that I have seen. Isn't dependent on regular, hardcore, vet, etc for example.

I would just tell you to find a server or a few servers you like to play on and stick with them. Bouncing servers will just end in a bad time.

General rule of thumb:

Recruit server: map location, waypoints

Veteran server: no map location, no waypoints

That's with like a 90% chance. Server owners can change the settings those server types provide by default.
