Standalone pricing clarification

Recommended Posts

Since I never got into minecraft, the minecraft pricing model is foreign to me. I understand the SA alpha will be 'heavily discounted', but will this be the only payment? Or do you have to pay for every 'major' release? Thanks!

I only had to pay for Minecraft Beta once at a discount. That doesn't mean DayZ will work exactly the same way though (unless it was mentioned somewhere that it will be the same).

The Minecraft model works something like this: you pay a heavily discounted price for alpha, for example €7,- , and the price increases when it gets closer to version 1 of the game. By doing this they'll have some money while still developing the game and early buyers will have the game for a discounted price. Rocket said the final price will probably be around 15/20$ , just like minecraft.

Thanks, I will be in on the ground floor, so it should be exceptional value!
