How do hackers have THIS MUCH control

Recommended Posts

Ok so I know even with the "Upgrades lol" of Battle eye hackers are running rampant at the moment and I can live with that, I just log the moment something is fishy "No not during a fair fire fight" but it seems that the hackers have a (New) tool at their disposal... it seems that they can now disable the abort button before thunderdoming everyone on the server... how is this type of game control up for grabs by hackers?? now just to clarify this IS NOT a bitch/rant post, I understand that there is nothing rocket or the devs can do about hackers that is the job of Battle eye/BI, but posting on their forums is like shoving a screwdriver into my eyeball... :P just wondering if anyone in this community can shed some light on this subject.

Cheers

Gareth

Oh look another DayZ noob.

ARMA 2 wasn't made for DayZ, it was made as a simulator.

Simulators generally don't need insane anti-script and hack protection because they're not even 'games' and there would be no reason to 'hack' or cheat online. DayZ changed that.

Had the same thing happen to me once when sent to debug plain. Abort button was not accessible. By a miracle I happened to be the one guy who survived that time after getting in a Ural and running everyone over. After everyone died I saw more people spawning in so I just ctrl alt deleted ARMA. Rejoined another server and had to walk for 20 minutes to get back to civilization.

the real reason is that arma II was designed to be pretty easily extendable. while this design bore a lot fruit (such as mods like DayZ) it also leaves the game itself open to lots of manipulation of that system.

scripts get posted on other forums in public places, and griefers will cook up this delicious copypasta and inject scripts.

I encountered the same problem yesterday. It is a new problem. It was on a russian server. I started at the coast and ran for thr woods. In the woods I checked my surroundings - there was no one. Suddenly I was hit by a bullet - clearly a hacker. When I wanted to log out. The ABORT button was not active. So I wasn`t able to leave the game. Quit to desktop and closed arma - life saved. This game is unplayable!

Its not that new. Hackers have been able to disable your abort key for a while. Its just that you can't Alt+F4 since the new patch that its become prevalent.

He answered your questionm and you get offensive because he calls you a noob, beause you are a noob > newbie > new player, otherwise you would have known Arma 2 allows scripts and it's not Battleye's fault for letting script kiddies push their precious bought "hack".

Take solace in the fact that if Rocket wants the first stages of the standalone to out "this year", it has to be within five months, and I'm pretty sure he isn't gonna wait until the day before New Year's.
